A Breed Saved
Postwar Japan leaves the Shiba all but extinct. NIPPO, the Nihon Ken Hozonkai, founded in 1928 to preserve the native breeds and keeping detailed pedigrees since 1932, has almost nothing left to save.
Naka Go is born April 16 in the Akaishiso kennel. His sire Akani Go and dam Beniko Go both trace to Aka Go Fugaku, the Father of the Shiba. Logged with NIPPO as registration #1216.
NIPPO's own history names him the founding dog of the postwar Shiba restoration. He anchors the Akaishi line, merging the Shinshu, Mino, and San'in bloodlines through him.
He passes Dec 23, his blood carried on through 14 documented offspring, and today it runs in 80% of every Shiba alive.
